PS305
Modern Physics Laboratory
Dr. Darrel Smith
Syllabus Grades
Lab 1 Spectroscopy Lab
Lab 2 Diffraction
Lab 3 Charge-to-mass ratio of the electron (e/m)

1. Writeup for the small e/m apparatus (Lab MP-1)
   2. Instruction sheet 555 571 for the large e/m apparatus
   3. Writeup (P6.1.3.1) for the large e/m apparatus
   4. Web page describing the magnetic field produced by Helmholtz coils
Lab 4 Franck-Hertz Experiment (Ionization potential of Neon) Writeup
Now you can dry-lab the Franck-Hertz experiment (Thanks to T. Stopa)
Lab 5 Radioactive Decay -- student manual
spectroscopy manual
Lab 6 Millikan Oil Drop Experiment
Here is a guideline describing standard statistical techniques used to analyze data. This includes methods for determining uncertainties and propagating uncertainties, so the quality of the measurement can be determined.

I would like you to do a formal lab writeup for the two diffractions labs. Please merge them into a single lab writeup using the "long form" described in the writeup.

Secondly, I would like you to use the "short form" for the e/m writeup. Please include the error analysis in both lab writeups.
